Background
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA with two older brothers and a loving mom and dad. I am currently a Gold Scholar at the Georgia Institute of Technology where I am pursuing a major in Computer Science and a minor in Global Development. In tandem with that, I am doing research under professor Robert Gonzales investigating the effectiveness of modern machine learning techniques in identifying trends in development using satellite imagery. Another notable involvement of my college career has been playing for Georgia Tech’s Division I men’s basketball team and serving as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Board at Georgia Tech for two years.
At the end of the day, I just want to use my passions for problem solving and technology to create a better and more peaceful world.
Professional Pursuits
During the summer of 2024, I had the privilege of interning with Euroleague Basketball in Barcelona, Spain, where I joined their sustainability team in working on community development initiatives. While there, I was able to present in front of Georgia Tech Professor, Kirk Bowman, and his class on the importance of sports as a tool for sustainable development (who I am pictured with below). I am also now working on a Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) under Dr. Bowman where I am leading the development of the CURVA database, a visual archive of ultra soccer fan groups, documenting their impact on civil society (which is linked in the selected works section of this site). Additionally, as mentioned in the previous section, I am now conducting research under the supervision of professor Robert Gonzales investigating the effectiveness of modern machine learning techniques in identifying trends in development using satellite imagery.
While Global Development continues to fascinate me, I've also been exploring the world of business and technology. During the summer of 2025, I interned with KPMG in Atlanta, GA, where I got to work in their Advisory Consulting, Audit, and Tax practices in a rotational program. I enjoyed it so much that I will be returning to KPMG in the summer of 2026 as a Software Engineering Intern within their Tax Transformation and Technology practice.
I mention all of this to highlight my deep ambition to work at the intersection of Global Development and Computer Science, particularly in using the techniques of the latter to improve our understanding of the former.
Basketball
I have played basketball competitively year-round since 6th grade. I began with a simple desire to get out of my comfort zone and try to go from the worst player on my middle school team to the best. Over the years my passion for the sport grew, and I kept setting more goals for myself, which eventually led to a dream to play in college. Through a lot of long days in the gym and a great measure of luck, I was able to achieve that dream and was thus propelled into some of the most challenging circumstances of my life.
Balancing a round-the-clock basketball schedule with a full time Computer Science course load was a tall order for me, though I learned countless lessons from that adversity. It taught me much about being a good basketball player and teammate, but even more about being a good person and leader.
Other Interests
I deeply enjoy inviting friends over and watching mixed martial arts bouts and have actually started training jiu-jitsu myself.
When I have free time, I like to spend it reading either philosophy or development economics. I also love to play video games, especially ones that tell good stories. I enjoy writing stories myself, although I humbly admit that it is a craft I am still learning to master.
